Signs That Tell you it is Time to Change your Car
The vast majority of Australian motorists prefer to buy a used car rather than opting for a new model, which is obviously the cheaper alternative. How often you change your set of wheels can have some bearing on whether or not you are getting the best value, and with that in mind, here are a few tell-tale signs to remind you it is time to part-exchange your current car for something better.
- Regular Repairs – We’ve all been there, opening our wallets yet again to fix the car, and there has to be a time when you draw the line and change the car for one in a better condition. It might be small things like an alternator, or a leaking radiator, and if you are regularly having to get the car fixed, perhaps the time has come to trade the car for something a little newer.
- Unreliable – Ideally, you want a car that starts when you need it, and if reliability isn’t what it was, why not trade the car in for a better model? When small things start to go wrong, perhaps it is best to look for a car that is reliable, preferably one that is only a couple of years old and has a full service history. There are affordable used cars for sale in Canberra from an established dealership with a good reputation in the community, plus each car they sell comes with a warranty.
- Growing Family – If you drive a sports car, for example, a growing family would necessitate trading your car in for a family saloon car, or perhaps an SUV. It is not unusual for a person to upgrade from a small car to one with more room, as their family is growing.
- High Fuel Bills – If your car is a bit of a gas guzzler, this adds up over time, and by replacing your car with a more economical model, you can cut your motoring costs. A high-performance car is nice to drive, but if the running costs are prohibitive, why not change to a smaller, less powerful vehicle that is more economical to drive.
Sometimes you just have a feeling that it is time to upgrade, and by looking at approved dealerships, you will likely find a suitable replacement for a decent price, plus you can trade your car in for more than it is worth.
