Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich and the 46-year old Audi factory driver Emanuele Pirro had already reached an agreement some time ago about the end of the Italian’s active career for Audi at the 2008 American Le Mans Series season finale. Included among Pirro’s outstanding victories under the banner of the four rings are the Italian Touring Car Championship (1994 and 1995), the German Touring Car Championship (1996), the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2000, 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2007) and the American Le Mans Series (2001, 2005). …click here to read more

74 MPG VW Golf BlueMotion Concept

VW has unveiled the Golf BlueMotion concept that gets an astounding 74.3 MPG. The concept is powered by a 105 horsepower 1.6L TDI diesel engine . In addition to achieving 74 mpg, the concept also reachs 0-62 mph in 11.3 seconds. Not to shabby at all!

Expect to see the Golf BlueMotion to go on sale in mid 2009, while the new Golf hits dealers in the UK in January 2009.

The 2010 Porsche Panamera will be offered with a choice of three engines and will be priced from about $127,000 for the base V6 model to $198,000 for the full-house turbo V8 all-wheel-drive edition.

The latest details on the four-door Porsche, include the news that a new full-hybrid option for the Panamera will mate a 300-horsepower V6 gasoline engine with a 100-hp electric motor, enabling the driver to select from any combination of the two propulsion sources. …click here to read more
