Mercedes-Benz has recalled 102,954 sport utility vehicles because of a defect that could cause a loss of power steering. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Mercedes M-Class SUVs from model years 1998 to 2003 are affected by this recall.

The problem is with a clamp used to secure a cooling hose for power-steering systems on the vehicles, which may be too weak and not able to hold it properly. An earlier recall did not sufficiently fix the problem.

Please contact your local Mercedes Benz dealer for details.

Ford will unveil the production version of the Lincoln MKT at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show this January. Sadly for you Lincoln fans, the production version will wear Ford’s logo.

The production version MKT will have the 1941 Continental-style bow-wave grille first seen on the MKS and destined to become a Lincoln signature face, a chamfered surface parallel to the beltline and a thick C-pillar, with very little other than overall dimensions to hint at its connection with the Flex. It will come in six as well as a seven-passenger version.

Hummer’s largest dealership, Towbin Hummer, will soon close its doors becoming at least the eighth Hummer dealer to close in 2008. The popular Hummer dealership is the brand’s only store in Las Vegas.

Dan Towbin, who owns the dealership, says that he will soon open a Smart cars dealership in Vegas. Towbin also sells Dodge, Rolls Royce, Bentley and Infiniti brands.

Analysts are saying that things like this will make it hard for GM to sell the Hummer brand. With a 5 percent decline in Hummer’s U.S. dealer base it will be tough for whoever purchases Hummer to sell its gas-guzzling SUVs to its core market.

Since Hummer only produces SUVs and is the poster child for poor fuel economy, it should come as no surprise that Hummer sales are down 43 percent this year. But business must go on and Hummer has released a new, limited edition of the H2, dubbed the Black Chrome Limited Edition.

The Black Chrome editions gets plenty of black chrome accents – from the ubiquitous Hummer grille, the fuel door and even the SUV’s 21-inch wheels. …click here to read more
