Volvo will be delaying the redesign versions of the XC90 SUV and the S60 sedan while it focuses its time and tight budget to move into new segments and technologies. The redesigned versions of the two popular Volvo models will arrive in 2012 or 2013.

Volvo will be allocating its resources to DRIVe hybrid technologies. Next year Volvo models will start getting start/stop technology. A new diesel-electric hybrid will arrive in 2012. According to Volvo, the hybrid system will be composed of a 5-cylinder turbodiesel engine along with an electric motor. Volvo says that the hybrids will be able travel at low speeds on electric power alone.

f you’re in the market for a new GT-R in Japan, and you don’t already have an order in, we have got some bad news for you.

Nissan of Japan has reportedly put Nissan GT-R production on hold for reasons unknown at the moment. Without knowing what exactly is going on, there is no way of telling when the new GT-R will be put in the hands of their owners. Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart, has again brought home record values in the business year 2007/08 (to July 31) despite the general lack of buoyancy in the economic environment. As the company announced on Wednesday, in a first review of the business year that has just ended, preliminary figures indicate that sales of the 100 percent subsidiary Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG have increased by 1.2 percent to 98,652 vehicles sales. Turnover also went up by 1.3 percent to 7.46 billion Euro. …click here to read more
