High Performance Driving Academy Allows Customers to Satisfy Their Need for Speed

Jaguar Cars announced today the launch of its R Performance Academy, beginning December 1, with a session at one of America’s premier racing facility, the Homestead Miami Speedway, which features 2.21 miles of challenging asphalt and 14 turns that provide a rewarding challenge to even the most experienced racers.

The R Performance Academy is complimentary with the purchase of a 2010 XFR, the ultimate Jaguar sports sedan, or 2010 XKR, the new generation of Jaguar’s sports coupe, and offers an exhilarating, experiential adventure for the ultimate auto enthusiast. Both the XFR and XKR are powered by a supercharged, 510-hp V8 engine, and boast accelerations from 0 – 60 in 4.7 and 4.6 seconds, respectively. Jaguar just announced that it is recalling more than 7,900 MY2009 XF sedans in the United States for a defect in the rear safety belt assembly.

Representives from Jaguar says there have been no accidents or injuries reported due to the problem, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration noted that in the event of a crash, a seat occupant may not be properly restrained thus increasing the risk of personal injury.

Jaguar’s US dealers will inspect the rear safety belt assembly and make the necessary repairs. If you are a 2009 XF owner and have questions or concerns, please contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

The guys over at Jaguarmania are reporting some news that should spark hope in the hearts of fans: Ratan Tata, current owner of the brand, has announced that the company is studying a return to competition, in grand style, with an LMP2 prototype that could race in the classic Le Mans 24 hours. It was on French soil that Jaguar last won a victory, in 1990, with the XJR12.
