Land Rover has recently confirmed the extension of its industry leading CO2 offset initiative to the company’s fast growing Middle East market. The program will balance emissions from the first 72,000 km of customer use on vehicles sold in the Gulf and Levant region and the CO2 generated by Land Rover’s manufacturing operations in the UK. …click here to read more

Chevrolet Volt to be rated over 100 MPG!

By now you guys probably know a lot about the Chevy Volt. We know that it can do 40 miles on battery-power alone, after which a 1.4L 4-cylinder engine will kick in allowing for a range of at least 300 miles. We know that it takes anywhere from 3 hours to 8 hours to charge depending on the amount of volts. What we don’t know is how many miles per gallon the Volt will deliver.

According to GM spokesman Rob Peterson, GM has asked the EPA to declare the Volt as an electric vehicle for regulatory use. That would give the Volt an EPA rating of more than 100 mpg which will be a strong selling point for GM. …click here to read more

The Santa Fe blue Hybrid maintains the overall design and dynamics of the standard Santa Fe, but is altogether a different car under the hood. Hyundai engineers developed a proprietary parallel hybrid drive system which mates the powerful but thrifty 2.4-litre Theta engine to a six-speed automatic transmission and a 41PS electric motor for maximum fuel economy and substantially reduced CO2 emissions. This proprietary parallel hybrid drive architecture will serve as the foundation for all future hybrid drive vehicles to be developed by Hyundai. …click here to read more

Honda has always been at the forefront of the eco-technological wave, being one of the first to the market with a mass-produced hybrid vehicle with the original Insight hatch and then breaking new ground once again with the hydrogen-powered FCX Clarity.
