Google’s Street View camera system has been known for catching some for the interesting things as it tours the country, taking roadside footage. Coming soon is an on-the-track perspective of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as the American Le Mans Series racers prepared for the final race of the 2008 season.

The feature was originally slated to go live today (March 26th), but it has since been delayed to an unspecified date. While we wait for it to officially go live, these images gives us a peek at what’s currently available if you mess around on Google Maps. …click here to read more

America’s new Formula 1 team, USF1, hasn’t even lined up on the starting grid yet. Already the operation has hit a hurdle in its preparations, with the sport’s commercial rights-holder Bernie Ecclestone ordering a change of name to US Grand Prix Engineering.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based operation that will be run by one-time Ligier and Onyx technical director Ken Anderson and former Williams and Ferrari team manager Ken Anderson, was officially launched last week, but anyone wishing to access the team’s website was out of luck. …click here to read more

Michael Schumacher has been invited to look into buying the embattled Brackley based formula one team, says his long-time manager Willi Weber. It was reported earlier this year that Schumacher might be interested in looking into the Honda team, perhaps in collaboration with his former Ferrari colleague Ross Brawn.

“There was an enquiry,” Weber confirmed to a local newspaper, “but neither I nor Michael are going to take part in formula one in this way. “Michael is happy with his life and – as far as motor racing is concerned – I am focused on managing the career of Nico Hulkenberg,” Weber added.

It also emerged this week that Tony Teixeira, the boss of the A1 GP series, also has looked into buying the team following the Honda Motor Co.’s announcement that it is withdrawing from the sport. Mr. Teixeira released the following statement. “Because of the economic times, I cannot commit myself to this year’s budget.”
