Hyundai Genesis Coupe Performance Specs

Hyundai launched its Genesis Coupe in the Korean market this week with performance specs finally divulged. The first engine is Hyundai’s Theta 2.0-liter turbo which produces in Korea 223 horsepower on premium fuel and 210 horsepower (regular fuel). For the U.S. market it is rated at 210hp @ 6000rpm while peak torque is 299 Nm (220 lb-ft) @ 2,000rpm (302 Nm / 223 lb-ft for the U.S. market) propelling the rear-wheel-drive car from 0-100km/h (62mph) in just 8.3 seconds. …click here to read more

Hyundai announced that it is readying three modified Genesis Coupes for the 2008 SEMA show, Hyundai is now focusing its attention on the new Genesis Sedan. RKSport has annouced that they have been brought on for the SEMA show projects and their example will feature an enhanced version of the Genesis’ 4.6-liter V8 which produces 368 HP. …click here to read more

The Santa Fe blue Hybrid maintains the overall design and dynamics of the standard Santa Fe, but is altogether a different car under the hood. Hyundai engineers developed a proprietary parallel hybrid drive system which mates the powerful but thrifty 2.4-litre Theta engine to a six-speed automatic transmission and a 41PS electric motor for maximum fuel economy and substantially reduced CO2 emissions. Already talk of Hyundai’s Genesis sedan and coupe has stirred speculation that U.S. and European manufacturers may have some real competition on their hands. The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has attracted about 800 buyers since its launch - and while many car enthusiasts may be underestimating the Korean luxury sedan, the Genesis 4.6 recently went head-to-head with the 2008 Lexus GS 350 in a face-off in what is said to be the closest finishes ever in their comparison test history.

The Hyundai Genesis range-topper which carries a 4.6 liter V8 that produces 375-hp was selected for the test. The 2008 Lexus GS 350 is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 which produces 303-hp. Prices for both luxury sedans start at $38,000 and $44,550 respectively. Check out the video below. …click here to read more
