Donald N. Frey, the engineer who responsible for the design and development of the original Ford Mustang. The affordably priced “pony car” that the Ford Motor Company rolled out in the mid-1960s in one of the most successful car introductions in automotive history.
Mr Frey died March 5 in Evanston, Ill., where he lived. He was 86.

It hasn’t been that long ago that Ford was manufacturing a genuine supercar, one that made no excuses as it took on the world’s best. The Ford GT had one foot in the past with the other in the present, with its ’60s GT40 good looks and somewhat more modern 5.4-liter supercharged V8.
