As part of the weekend’s exhibition driving, Michael Schumacher took to the track with an elite group of client test-drivers as part of the FXX Program. After their two free practice laps, Schumacher returned to the circuit on his own.

The weather for the event was wet, windy and cold - but that didn’t stop the 20,000 fans from turning out for Schumacher from putting on a show. Behind the wheel of both the FXX and the F2004, Schumacher laid into the track, sending rooster tails of water skyward and powersliding around the bends at will.

After having anticipated that a Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider would be made in a limited edition of the Maranello, Ferrari has so far not confirmed or denied the news, but now does so in a sleek way.

In the new presentation film dedicated to California customers, the office of Dany Bahar, Global Sales and Brand Director, is decorated with a photo of a yellow 430 Scuderia Spider. At this point, we’ll wait for the official presentation at the Mugello Ferrari finals in November. From the small image it’s not easy to see whether modifications have been made. We will continue to bring you news on this story as it breaks.

The California’s debut, from Ferrari’s home in Maranello, is framed as providing a wider clientele to Ferrari, and the more egalitarian media of the Internet suits its unveiling. In a brief interview, Schumacher said that the car was an attempt to combine the eminent sporting potential of all Ferraris with the comfort and practicality of a daily driver, perhaps providing the best summary of Ferrari’s mission for the car yet. …click here to read more

The Nürburgring is the absolute Mecca for automotive enthusiasts and racing fans around the world. Ring records has become a vaunted pursuit, and any automaker worth its bolts brings its latest prototypes to test. Among those marques is Ferrari, which in addition to three racing circuits that the company owns and operates in Italy, comes to the Nürburgring for proper shakedowns.

Reports now indicate that Ferrari has set up shop at the Nürburgring. The information comes directly from Germany, which named the ‘Ring as one of the 10 most important sites in the country. It remains a bit unclear as to the nature of the new facility. However, it seems to combine a showroom and merchandising store among its attractions. The Ferrari installation at the Nürburgring is apparently one of many that circuit managers hope will set up shop at the side of the track, which is undergoing a renovation to its facilities for next summer.

Brake manufacturer Brembo is looking to transform itself into more of a OEM brake supplier by taking over North America - most importantly Detroit. With the of acquisition of Hayes-Lemmerz International, Brembo is looking to make nice with Detroit automakers but isn’t giving out any forecast as how it could improve the company’s financial of the brake component division of U.S. supplier.

Brembos current plans for North America include a new manufacturing facility, set to target upscale and middle-market vehicles and pitching its reduced weight with advanced engineering to Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Chrysler.

Brembo will continue to supply high-end rotors and complete braking systems to exclusive automakers like Ferrari and Porsche and will also try to be more visible with brands like Hyundai and Nissan.
